Slide Show - Owen Sound West Side Train Tracks from Owen Sound to Park Head
This trail has been recently upgraded for biking. The quality of the trail is OK but could use some fine gravel in some areas.
The trail can be started at bridge in downtown Owen Sound ... follow the city trails to the marina ... ride through the marina ... catch the train tracks at the marina entrance ... you will now travel a gentle 5km uphill to the top of the escarpment ... the trail is almost flat the rest of the way to Park Head ... at Shallow Lake the trail does go off the train tracks ... about .2km west on a town street and there are "no signs"
It will take 2.5 to 5 hours to ride the trail both ways depending on the speed you ride. I am reasonably fast and can do it in under 3 hours.
